Hello!
I thought it was time to have a chat about something massive that’s impending for me, and to discuss the reasons around why I’m choosing to do such a thing.
That’s me now. Note I never post body shots anywhere online, but you’re about to get some at the end of this post.
In August I’ll be travelling to Turkey to undergo a gastric sleeve operation. This decision has not come lightly, and follows years of umming, ahhing, and endless research. I’ve chosen to go with Booking Surgery for the procedure, and my surgeon will be Dr Katar.
To put it simply I’m opting for surgery because I’m done with trying and failing to lose weight on my own. Having both PCOS and endometriosis have been hugely influential on my weight throughout my life; coupled with a love for food and cooking it’s lead to me maintaining a weight that’s higher than I’m comfortable with.
I’ve not always been fat, holding out at a steady size 12 for a number of years, but pregnancy, the above conditions, plus years of terrible mental health struggles have taken a toll and I want to get myself back. Efforts of my own have had varied success over the years, so to me it makes sense to take a drastic step that’ll be the one to finally get me to a position where I’m comfortable, confident and happy with myself once more.
My operation is booked for August 27th, and right now I’m nothing but excited for it! That may be subject to change once I hit the airport and my hatred of flying comes to the fore, but for now I am so keen to finally be doing something for myself.
